The objective of the course was to create an interactive installation which makes the term ‚Dreamtime‘ tangible.
Our result is an audiovisual map which shows the art and tradition of Aboriginal people and extends it by a digital system.

The term ‚Dreamtime‘ describes a metaphysical parallel world from which spiritual energies of the past can be absorbed and new ones added. On this way the Australian native people can communicate with their ancestors and transfer knowledge and traditions.
The map describes a life cycle of an aborigine. The ethnic symbols stand for different tasks and events. By touching the map the events are made audible and comprehensible to the user. The deeper and longer he touches the louder the sounds get.
